Throwback Thursday: Japan 2015

Traveling is so much fun when you get to do it with your friends. I always get excited whenever I explore countries with them. Two years ago, we went altogether in Japan and explored different places in 14 days.

We spent our first 4 days and 3 nights in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. On our 1st day, we went around Asakusa and Shibuya to shop and eat around the city. After a couple of rounds walking and shopping, we visited the famous monument of Hachiko, one of the world’s famous dogs. During our 2nd day, we went to Shinjuku and took a bus tour around the city and also visited the Tokyo Tower. Then, like what we did on our first day, we ate a lot of Japan’s famous foods. On the third day, we went to Disney Sea which is so much fun because we have kids with us enjoying the rides and walking around the resort. We stayed for 4 days in Hotel Gracery in Tokyo which we booked in

This time, we spent the night at The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu. The hotel has a unique view of Yokohama port and it is in the heart of Minato-Mirai area. Also, the hotel is located in the Queen’s Square Yokohama complex which has spacious gardens, concert halls, and shops. The Minato-Mirai train station is a 6-minute walk from the hotel.

From Yokohama, we went on a cruise for 7 days and 6 nights. Diamond Princess is the name of our ship from Princess Cruises. We spent our 3rd and 6th day at the sea and Shimizu on our 2nd day where we can see Mt. Fuji but unfortunately it was really foggy that time. On the 4th day, the next stop is Nagasaki where the bombing happened in August of 1945 and the 5th day was in Busan where we visited markets and temples. During the 6th night, our last, there was a gala night in the cruise ship where we get to dress up and enjoy ourselves.

Balcony Stateroom

It was a lot of fun staying in the ship because it has so many pool for us to enjoy while looking over the ocean. Also, we can choose to eat over the buffet or have a fine dining treat which is a part of our package. Aside from all the facilities we enjoyed, my friends and I can all hang out in our connecting rooms. But personally, one of the best things about this cruise is there is no Wi-Fi which may sound unpleasing but it was really good because you can get to interact and bond with the people around you personally and not through your phone.

Gala Night

Kobe is our last stop where we got off from the ship and Osaka is just an hour away from there.

They also have a free shuttle going to Osaka Station.

We visited the Osaka Castle on the 2nd day and went to the top of the castle to see the view which is now modernized with elevators for convenient accessibility. 3rd day was spent in Universal Studios and the 4th day in Dotonbori which I talked about in one of my previous blog *click here*
