Abu Dhabi is the capital of United Arab Emirates and the largest of the UAE’s seven Emirates. It sits off the mainland of an island in the Persian Gulf. The city features large parks, high-rise buildings, shopping malls, and the world’s top landmarks -Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque. So many things to explore in the beautiful city of Abu Dhabi.
We thought of spending one day in Abu Dhabi since we are in Dubai already. It’s a 45-minute drive going there. Again, we got our tour from Columbuz Holidays. As always, we are accommodated by their staff and we had a fun filled day in the city. Around 9 in the morning, we were picked up by the tour guide and two of our itineraries were The Grand Sheik Zayed Mosque and Ferrari World. First, we went to visit the Mosque and the whole afternoon was spent in Ferrari World.
Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque is the iconic landmark of Abu Dhabi and one of the world’s largest mosques with a capacity of 40,000 worshippers. It’s made up of natural marble, gold and precious stone and it features over 1000 columns, 82 domes, 24 carat gold chandeliers and the world’s largest hand knotted carpet. The Mosque is open to the public when it’s not used for prayer. However, they are very strict with dress code – women must be completely covered and head must be covered as well. But mostly, the tour guide provides an Abaya. To be safe, you can buy your abaya in the souq of Dubai before the day of your tour. Since this place is sacred place of worship,
as a smart tourist, we need to follow some rules to respect their culture and not to offend anyone.
The Mosque was really fascinating and a nice place to explore. The place is a work of art or should I call it a masterpiece, just WOW! It was a dream project of late Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It shows diversity in one of the beautiful ways possible. A tribute to the man with vision and mission. The first ceremony was the funeral of the late Sheik Zayed who was buried at the site.
—- FERRARI WORLD —-
Now, we’re on our second itinerary for the day-The Ferrari World. My husband and I are so thrilled to experience the world’s first Ferrari theme park with different attractions and what’s unique about this is they have all the winning mix of Ferrari inspired rides.
Beneath the iconic red roof, was different high-adrenaline rides like the HIGHEST ROLLERCOASTER LOOP IN THE WORLD – FLYING ACES and WORLD’S FASTEST ROLLERCOASTER – FORMULA ROSSA. They are open 365 days a year and the fun never stops as it offers a unique indoor and climate controlled environment.
We tried everything we can that afternoon. It was a fun filled day and the adrenaline rush that we got to experienced was really amazing. If your the type of person who seeks thrill and excitement, I highly recommend this tour because it is truly a unique experience to brave the highest rollercoaster in the world. Definitely worth a try!
